He is a Principal Technical Advisor at the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center in Cambridge, MA. Previously, he joined the faculty of the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Amherst in 1982 as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research and recently stepped down as the Department Head in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the same institution.
