Biography/History note | Sources differ as to the date of this film; later dates may be release dates. The film was directed by Lucien Nonguet, initially under the direction of Ferdinand Zecca. This film is sometimes confused with another version of the life of Christ, produced by Pathé Frères in 1907, and directed by Ferdinand Zecca, possibly with co-directors, Lucien Nonguet and/or Segundo Chomón. According to Catalogue Pathé des annés 1896 à 1914, Pathé Frères made a total of four films about the life of Christ, including Vie et passion du Christ in 1899, which available as either 9 tableaux or 16 tableaux, and Vie de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, directed by Maurice André Maître in 1914. The films consisted of multiple tableaux, each with its own title. The tableaux were individually available for purchase by exhibitors. |
