He was born 1926 in New York City and received his A.B. M.A. and Ph. D. from University of Michigan. At the time of his death, he was a professor of psychology in pediatrics and psychiatry at Cornell University Medical Center, attending psychologist at the Payne Whitney Psychiatric Clinic, consulting psychologist in the pediatrics department at Lenox Hill Hospital and an adjunct professor of child development at Brown University. Author of eight books on family relationships.)
