Biography/History noteThe City of Daytona Beach is located in Volusia County, Florida. The 1925 Legislature of Florida abolished the City of Daytona, Town of Daytona Beach, and Town of Seabreeze, with a law approved on June 8, 1925, in order to form the new City of Daytona Beach in their place. Following that, the three municipalities voted on August 4, 1925, in favor of consolidation. The consolidation went into effect on January 1, 1926, officially creating the City of Daytona Beach.
