Ohles, J.F. Private colleges and universities. 1982 (Under Harvard University: In 1879 members of the Harvard faculty initiated instruction of 27 women students in what was called the Harvard Annex. The Society for the Collegiate Instruction of Women was organized in 1882. In 1884 [i.e. 1894] the name of the school was changed to Radcliffe College. The college was officially affiliated with Harvard University in 1884 [i.e. 1894]. It is an integral part of Harvard University)
