Immigration and Naturalization Service The name of the United States Bureau of Immigration (established on July 12, 1891) was changed to Bureau of Immigration and Naturalization on June 29, 1906. On March 14, 1913, the Bureau was divided to form the Bureau of Naturalization and the Bureau of Immigration (thereby resuming a former name). On June 10, 1933, the two bureaus merged to form the Immigration and Naturalization Service. |
