Directed the Chicago YWCA in 1946 and served as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice. Taught at the Howard University School of Law 1961-1967, and was appointed dean of the Law School in 1969. Appointed to several presidental commissions and committees and served on multiple boards. Died March 23, 1985 in Washington, D.C.)
