When the university was reorganized in 1959, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville were created, and a central administration continued under the name Southern Illinois University. The name of university changed in late 1980's to drop hyphen and at to become simply Southern Illinois University Carbondale. |
