Wikipedia, June 24, 2008 (Socialist Republic of Croatia (Croatian, Serbian: Socijalistička Republika Hrvatska) was the official name of Croatia as a constituent republic in the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia; was founded as the Federal State of Croatia (Croatian: Federalna Država Hrvatska, or FD Hrvatska) on May 9, 1944; on Nov. 29, 1945, the Federal State of Yugoslavia became the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia, a Stalinist People's Republic.
