Biography/History note | Baldo degli Ubaldi, or Baldus de Ubaldis (1327-1400) was an influential jurist of the late fourteenth century. He studied in Perugia, where he was a student of Bartolo de Sassoferrato, earning a doctorate in canon and civil law in 1347. He taught at Perugia, as well as Florence, Pisa, and Padua, and authored commentaries on the Corpus iuris ciuilis, the Corpus iuris canonici, the Libri feudorum, and the Speculum iudiciale, as well as roughly 2,500 consilia. |
