At end of 11th cent. occupied by Hungary; from end of 17th cent. to 1918 a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In 1919 it was ceded to Czechoslovakia where it remained until 1944 when it was liberated by Soviet forces. Since 06-29-1945 it has been part of Zakarpatsʹka Ukraïna) Coll.
