Wikipedia, February 26, 2019 (Chen Gongbo (Chinese: 陳公博 = Chen Gongbo; Wade-Giles: Ch'en Kung-po; Japanese: Chin Kōhaku, October 19, 1892 - June 3, 1946) was a Chinese politician, noted for his role as second (and final) President of the collaborationist pro-Japanese Wang Jingwei regime during World War II; born in Guangzhou (Canton); died Suzhou, Jiangsu, Republic of China; obtained a master's degree in Economics at Columbia University in 1925. On his return to China he joined the Kuomintang and was named head of the Department of Peasants and Workers; he was named Minister of Industry by the Kuomintang government from 1932-36; Mayor of Shanghai, November 1940 - December 1944; 2nd President of the Republic of China (Wang Jingwei regime), 10 November 1944 - 15 August 1945; executed by firing squad at Suzhou, Jiangsu, on June 3, 1946)
