Encyclopedia of Holocaust literature, 2002: pages 106-107 (Olga Lengyel, born in 1918, lived in Cluj in former Romania; author of one of the earliest published Holocaust memoirs, "Five Chimneys" (first published in French as "Souvenirs de l'au-delà€") describing her experiences in Auschwitz-Birkenau (deported there in May 1944). Her memoir describes Nazi medical experiments. Immigrated to New York City where she established a foundation to support Holocaust education. Recorded her oral history in 1998 with the Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation in Los Angeles, California.)
