At 21 he went to London where he was admitted to the Wesleyan Conference. Volunteered as a missionary to North America, he arrived in 1771 in Philadelphia where he became superintendent of missionary work in North America for John Wesley. Died near Fredericksburg, Virginia on March 31, 1816,)
