Cry of pain, 2014: author page (Mark Williams was born in 1952. Between 1979 and 1982 he was a lecturer in Applied Psychology at the University of Newcastle. From 1983 to 1991 he was a Research Scientist at the Medical Research Council's Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit in Cambridge. From 1991 to 2002 he was Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Wales, Bangor, and, in 1997, founded its Institute of Medical and Social Care Research. In 2003 he returned to Oxford for a Wellcome Principal Research Fellowship, and is now Emeritus Professor of Clinical Psychology and Fellow of Linacre College in the University of Oxford)
