Later, in 1933, Dartmouth College awarded him an honorary Doctor of Pedagogy degree. For forty-two years Professor Swift taught education in various universities and during thirty-seven of these years he was a full professor, sixteen years at the University of Minnesota and twenty-one at the University of California; Dr. Swift's special interest was in the field of school finance; Professor Swift's reputation as a scholar, however, will rest upon his monumental Studies in School Finance ... and his books on educational administration ...
