The journey of York, 2019: ECIP t.p. (York) galley (York; born in the early 1770s into slavery; accompianied Lewis and Clark on their expedition. As of 1832, William Clark claimed that he had freed York, and that York had died of cholera. Another 1832 report stated that trappers had encountered a black man who was a Crow Indian leader, and that this man claimed to have traveled with Lewis and Clark. Called Big Medicine, Gift from God, and Black Indian by Native Americans.)
