Special notePre-81 heading was erroneously est. as "Vlad II, Dracul, Prince of Wallachia, d. ca. 1476" based on 1903 work. Modern scholarship shows that Vlad Țepeș or "the Impaler," popularly known as Dracula, was in fact Vlad III. Not to be confused with his father: Vlad II, Prince of Wallachia, d. 1447, to whom the epithet "Dracul" was applied.
