Kentucky encyclopedia, ©1992: page 866 (Isham Talbot, U.S. Senator, born near Talbot, Bedford County, Virginia in 1773. Family moved to Harrodsburg, Ky. Admitted to the bar on May 12, 1796, then opened practice in Versailles, Ky. and later, Frankfort, Ky. Elected to the state Senate in 1812 and served until 1815. Then elected to U.S. Senate to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Jesse Bledsoe, where he served from January 3, 1815 to March 3, 1819. Ran again for the seat resigned by William Logan, and served again in the U.S. Senate from October 19, 1820 to March 3, 1825. Returned to his law practice in Frankfort where he later died.)
