Found inMotetter, 1988: t.p. (V. Bertholusius) introd. (Vincentius Bertholusius; biog. info. is sparse, and can be inferred from the pref. to his motet collection from 1601. The t.p. states that he was b. in Murano. We first hear of him in 1577, the year in which he had a madrigal printed, he was presumably b. about 1550. Engaged at the court of Christian IV on 5 Apr. 1607; his activities were only brief in duration. He died 18 Sept. 1607, possibly a victim of the plague that was raging in Copenhagen at the time)
