In 1503 it was annexed by Moscow and in 1618 by Poland. It became part of the Hetman state from 1648 and during the years 1702-22 and 1727-34 it was the capital of Left-Bank Ukraine. By 1802 it had become part of the Chernihiv gubernia. After 1917 Hlukhiv became part of Sov. Ukraine)
