Kentucky encyclopedia, ©1992: pages 121 ("William Campbell Preston Breckinridge" politician and journalist; attended school in Pennsylvania and Kentucky, graduated from Centre College in Danville in 1855 and became an attorney. Known as "The Silver-tongued Orator", he became an outstanding platform speaker. Served in U.S. House March 4, 1885 to March 3, 1895. Sued by his mistress after he married another woman in a sensational case, ending his political career. Died November 19, 1904.)
