She completed her MA in animation in 2005, and has since published a book for the novice animator, as well as working on large scale animation projects for Aardman animations and the BBC. Mary specialises in puppet making, and provides technical support and training to students engaged in all aspects of traditional stop motion production. In her capacity as technical instructor at the Bristol School of Animation she runs workshops in puppet making and set design, along with basic and advanced training sessions on the use of the cameras, software and lighting available in the animation studios)
