It was first mentioned in historical sources of 1472. In 1559 it was granted the rights of Magdeburg law and was renamed. After the partition of Poland it was transferred to Austria. It was restored to Poland in the interwar period. It was first noted in historical sources of 1472 as the village of Mostky in Polish Galicia. In 1559 it was renamed as Velyki Mosty. After the first partition of Poland in 1772 the village was ceded to Austria-Hungary.
