Wikipedia, March 12, 2014 (Friedrich Christoph Weisser; German writer and poet; born March 7, 1761 in Stuttgart; died January 9, 1836 in Stuttgart; Weisser was the son of a bookbinder and author of Tausendundeiner Nacht, Mährchen der Scheherezade (6 vols, Leipzig, 1809-1812) and Mährchen, Erzählungen und Anecdoten (Frankfurt am Main, 1816); with Friedrich Haug he published the 10-volume Epigrammatische Anthologie (Stuttgart,1807-1809); he is also known for his Schalkheit und Einfalt, oder der Simplicissimus des siebzehnten Jahrhunderts im Gewande des neunzehnten bekannt (Berlin, 1822))
