Wikipedia, Hungarian version, February 3, 2021 (Nékám Lajos; Nékám Lajos Sándor; born Pest 1868 June 4; died Budapest, 1957 January 29; Hungarian doctor of medicine, private university professor; son of university professor Sándor Nékám, father of doctor Lajos Nékám; graduated from high school and university in Pest; inaugurated as doctor of medicine in 1889; studied dermatology abroad, mainly in Paris and London; studied rarer skin problems in Spain and North Africa; from 1895 he was director of the Fővárosi Bakteriológiai [Institute of Bacteriology] in the capital; from 1898 he was a private university professor; from 1906 he was head of the dermatology clinic; from 1910 he taught dermatology at "budapesti egyetemen"; from 1935 he was a member of the "fels̈ház" [upper house]; he initiated the social fight against syphilis in Hungary, and screenings for sexually transmitted diseases and skin fungi)
