Wikipedia, September 27, 2018 (Meno Haas; Johann Meno Haas; born 6 April 1752, Hamburg; died 16 October 1833, Berlin; German-born copperplate engraver, miniaturist, illustrator and painter; brother of Georg and Peter Haas, and father of Jean Meno Haas; son and student of the engraver Jonas Haas (1720-1775); also trained under Johann Georg Preisler at the Academy of Copenhagen; was one year old when his family moved to Copenhagen; became an engraver attached to the University in 1778; moved to Paris in 1782 with younger brother Johan-Jakob-George Haas, also an engraver, where he worked under Nicolas de Launay; in 1786 he accepted a commission to copy art work in the Berlin Gallery and became a member of the Academy of Berlin in 1793)
