Meier, Matt S. Mexican American biographies, 1988: pages 146-147 (Nestor Montoya, politician, editor, businessman. Born in Albuquerque, N.M., graduated in 1881 from St. Michael's College in Santa Fe. Founded a Spanish-language newspaper, "La Voz del Pueblo" in the interest of New Mexico statehood. A year later founded and edited a second paper, "La Bandera Americana". Elected to the territorial legislature in 1892, where he served until 1903. He was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-seventh Congress and served from March 4, 1921 until his death in Washington, D.C. in 1923.)
