Kentucky encyclopedia, ©1992: pages 777-778 (John Marshall Robsion, U. S. congressman and senator, born in Bracken County, Ky. Attended National Northern University in Ada, Ohio and Holbrook College in Knoxville, Tennessee and graduated from National Normal University in Lebanon, Ohio. In 1898 he received a law degree from Centre College in Danville, Ky. Moved to Barbourville, Ky where he taught in the public schools and at Union College while establishing a legal practice. President of the First National Bank of Barbourville. Elected to the US House of Representatives where he served March 4, 1919 to January 10, 1930. On January 11, 1930, Gov Flem D. Sampson appointed Robsion to complete the unexpired U.S. Senate term of Frederic M. Sackett, where he served until November 30, 1930, then served as a representative in Congress January 3, 1935 until his death on February 17, 1948. Died in Barbourville.)
