Producer's Workshop at PBS.org web site, May 22, 2018 (Jorge Aguirre has written for everything from the most popular children's shows on television to documentaries about Romanian exorcisms. He's written episodes of Nickelodeon's, "Dora the Explorer" and "Go Diego! Go!" And he's also written for the Disney Channel's, "Handy Manny" and "Imagination Movers." In addition to television, he's also written webisodes for The N's teen surfing show, "Beyond the Break." As a producer and director, he's worked on, PBS' "History Detectives," as well as shows for TLC, the Discovery Channel, and SíTV. He participated in the 2001 PBS/CPB Producers Academy, and he was also awarded a PBS/CPB Producers Academy Fellowship. He's been funded by Latino Public Broadcasting (LPB), and was commissioned by LPB to write & produce the interstitial, "Is My Neighbor Latino?" Jorge's web experience includes working as a writer and researcher for, "P.O.V.'s Borders - Migrations" for PBS Interactive, copyediting for the American Federation for the Blind website, and working as an online editor for About.com. In addition to his television and web work, Jorge also writes books and comics for kids. His graphic novel, "Claudette the Giantslayer," will be published in 2011 by First Second Books (a division of Macmillan))
