Diana Abgar, Wikipedia, WWW page, viewed on Sept. 5, 2013 Diana Anahid Apgar (Diana Anahid Aghabegyan) was born in Rangoon, British Burma in October 12, 1859 and died in Yokohama, Japan in July , 1937. Diana was raise in Calcutta and received her education in a local convent and became fluent in Armenian, English and Sanskrit. She was an Armenian writer, and ambassador to Japan of the First Republic of Armenia (1918-1920). She was the first Armenian woman diplomat. Her services were terminated after Armenia became a part of the Soviet Union in 1920.)
