Biography/History noteChris Hadfield, born in Sarnia, Ontario on August 29, 1959, is a former Royal Canadian Air Force pilot and astronaut and the first Canadian to walk in space. He has served as the capsule communicator for 25 shuttle launches, as director of NASA Operations in Star City, Russia, chief of International Space Station Operations, and chief of robotics at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.
