Found inStatutes of the Fuerzas de Liberación Nacional (FLN), August 6, 1980, 2003: title page (Fuerzas de Liberación Nacional) page 4 (the FLN, the Fuerzas de Liberación Nacional, or Forces of National Liberation was created in August 1969 in Monterrey, the big city and state capital of the far northeastern state of Nueva León. The FLN high command in 1980 wrote and published its statutes to regulate its new clandestine forces and organize them into the already then named Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN). The FLN remained active until January 1993 when the high command transformed the FLN into the Partido de las Fuerzas de Liberación Nacional, the PFLN. [no publications in UC-Irvine collection])
