Schlesisches Schriftsteller-Lexikon, 1836-1843 (Uschner, Karl August Wilhelm; born 1 August 1802 in Lübben, in Lower Lusatia; studied law in Leipzig, then Berlin; named Oberlandes-Gerichts-Rat [higher district court judge] in Ratibor, took up position in April 1836; in 1834, initially under the name Julian, he appeared as a writer of belles-lettres, mainly led by the encouragement of his younger brother, Julius Uschner (a historical painter in Düsseldorf); contributor to newspapers; his works to date: Skizzen von Julian: Erzählungen und Gedichte (Phantasiestücke in Callot-Hoffmann's Manier) (1835), Gedichte von Karl Uschner (1836), Das Brevier von heiligen Rosalia: Blätter aus dem Leben eines Phantasten, herausgegeben von Karl Uschner (1837)) Brümmer, Franz.
