Wikipedia, French, 28 September 2017 (Luigi Mattei; Luigi Mattei (born March 17, 1702 in Rome; died January 30, 1758 in Rome) was an Italian cardinal; after obtaining a doctorate in utroque jure in 1727, he held various positions in the Roman Curia, notably as clerk of the Apostolic Chamber in 1743 and auditor of the Roman Rota in 1747; Pope Benedict XIV elevated him to the rank of Cardinal in the Consistory of November 26, 1753; he was the uncle of the cardinals Alessandro Mattei and Lorenzo Girolamo Mattei)
