Russian Wikipedia, viewed July 25, 2018: Zhilenkov, Georgiĭ Nikolaevich entry (Георгий Николаевич Жиленков = Georgiĭ Nikolaevich Zhilenkov, born in Voronezh in 1910, executed in Moscow August 1, 1946. After joining Komsomol in 1925 and working at machine factory in Voronezh, joined Communist Party in 1929 and served in various positions; in 1930 began technical school in Moscow, held various party and other positions around the city in 1930s and received Red Banner of Labor in 1939. Assigned to 32d Army military council and taken prisoner in October 1941; became part of Wehrmacht propaganda division, specifically for Russkai︠a︡ nat︠s︡ionalʹnai︠a︡ narodnai︠a︡ armii︠a︡ in August 1942 as publisher of newspaper Rodina. Beginning in December 1942 became one of Vlasov's closest collaborators; in January 1943 became editor of ROA newspaper Dobrovolet︠s︡ in Berlin, in August 1944 began to work on formation of KONR and in November 1944 became editor of its newspaper Voli︠a︡ naroda. At the end of April 1945 he tried to get political refugee status for KONR, was detained by Americans and worked for US Strategic Services until the Soviet Union obtained his return on May 1, 1946. He was condemned to death August 1, 1946 and executed the same day)
