The Catholic encyclopedia, 1907 : Tarquini, Camillus (cardinal, Jesuit canonist and archæologist ; born at Marta, 27 Sept. 1810, died at Rome, 15 Feb. 1874 ; entered the Society of Jesuits on 27 Aug. 1837 ; prior to his entrance to the Jesuits, he has published as a thesis for his doctorate "Institutionum juris canonici tabulæ synopticæ juxta ordinem habitum a Joanne Devoti" ; as a professor, he held the chair of canon law at the Roman College ; also author of : "Regium placet" and "Juris ecclesiastici publici institutiones" ; other works include his treatise on the French Concordat of 1801 and a disquisition on the Pauline Privilege ; author of several books and articles pertaining to the Etruscans including "Breve commento di antiche iscrizioni appartenenti alla città di Fermo" and "Dissertazione interno ad alcuni monumenti etruschi" ; he was president of the historical and archæological sections of the Accademia de' Quirti ; raised to the cardinalate by Pius IX with the title of St. Nicholas at the Tullian Prison on 22 Dec. 1873)
