Biography/History note | Dāwūd Pāshā (1774-1851) was the last Mamlūk ruler of Turkish Iraq (1817-1831); after his removal as wālī, he was re-promoted through the civil service and became Guardian of the Holy Shrine in Medina in 1845. |
