Biography/History noteIgnazio Giovanni Cadolini (1794-1850) was an Italian cardinal. He studied law in Bologna then Rome, before serving as secretary to papal delegate Giacomo Giustiniani, whom he followed to Spain. He was elevated to a series of bishoprics: Bishop of Cervia in 1826, Bishop of Foligno in 1831, Archbishop of Spoleto in 1832, and Archbishop of Ferrara in 1843, when he was also elevated to cardinal.
