Kurt Roger WWW site, June 14, 2018: Biography (Kurt Roger; born in Austria, May 3, 1895, to Viennese parents; studied at the Vienna University, earning his Doctorate in 1918; taught at the Vienna Conservatory, 1923-1938, also during which time his compositions were performed; fleeing the Nazi regime, emigrated to New York in 1939, continuing to teach and compose; became an American citizen in 1945; moved to Washington, D.C. in 1953; died August 4, 1966 while visiting Vienna; In 1990 the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna established a Kurt Roger archive and has also organized several performances of his music at the Musikverein)
