(hdg.: France. Déclaration des droits de l'homme. Adopted Aug. 26, 1789, by the Assemblée national constituante and inscribed at the head of the constitution of 1791. Modified versions of the Déclaration were prefixed by the Convention nationale to the Girondin-proposed constitution of Feb. 15-16, 1793, to the constitution of June 24, 1793, and to the constitution of Aug. 22, 1795 (5 fructidor an III). This last version had title: Déclaration des droits et des devoirs de l'homme et du citoyen, and was in 2 parts: Droits (22 articles) and Devoirs (9 articles)) |
