Meier, Matt S. Mexican American biographies, 1988: page 175 (Francisco Perera, born in Los Padillas, now within Bernalillo County, New Mexico in 1830. Studied at St. Louis University 1843-1845 then at the Bank Street Academy in New York City 1847-1849. Returned to Santa Fe, N.M. where he raised sheep. Fought for the Union during the Civil War and served as a representative of the New Mexico territory to the U.S. House. Later moved to Jemez Springs where he operated a motel and served as postmaster. Moved to Albuquerque where he died in 1913.)
