Maritime History Virtual Archives, WWW, Feb. 14, 2006 (The Maulesden was an iron full-rigged British clipper ship, built in 1875 by A. Stephen, Dundee. Assigned the British reg. no. 73395 and signal letters WTGL. Sailed mostly to Australia, India and England; in 1896 it was sold to Italian owners and re-named Ortrud. In the early 1900's was re-named Nostra Signora della Guardia. On Aug. 30, 1916 it was sunk by a German submarine 30 miles off Cape San Antonio; in August 1917 it was owned by Italy under the name Ostend)
