London's Bridges, 1983: p. 22 (Blackfriars Bridge. The bridge, originally known as Pitt Bridge, was opened on 19 November 1769. Mylne's bridge was demolished in 1860 and a temporary bridge erected. The foundation stone of a new structure, the present Blackfriars Bridge, designed by Joseph Cubitt, was laid in 1865. It was opened by Queen Victoria in 1869 on the same day that she opened Holborn Viaduct.)
