Penguin dict. of physics, 2000 (simultaneity: In classical physics different observers in uniform relative motion are assumed to have the same scale of time hence any two events that are found to be simultaneous by one observer will also be found to be so by any other observer in uniform relative motion. According to the theory of relativity this is not generally true. Two events occurring in different places may be found to be simultaneous by one observer but will not be simultaneous according to an oberver moving uniformly relative to the first one. This does not affect the temporal sequence of events nor imply any failure of determination.)
