Carrico, S. Implementing and assessing use-driven acquisitions, 2016: ECIP galley (Overview of Use-Driven Acquisition models: Patron-Driven Acquisition (PDA)/Demand-Driven Acquisition (DDA) is the most common UDA model and is a partnership between an aggregator and/or book vendor, as the plan offers the acquisition of print or e-books, or a combination of both. With this plan, profiles and parameters are built (similar to an approval plan) and corresponding MARC records are loaded into the library catalog where access and purchases are derived directly from use. With the Evidence-Based Acquisition (EBA) model, a library deposits funds with a publisher. The publisher then provides their own content, usually e-books. A set number of MARC records are loaded into the library catalog or activated through the discovery service. At the end of a specific timeframe, purchases are made using the deposit funds based on e-book usage by the patron.)
