Joshuaproject WWW site, March 13, 2017: (Antesaka in Madagascar; Joshua Project has identified the Antesaka only in Madagascar. The Antesaka originally came from the islands in Indonesia. They came to the island of Madagascar in canoes and were known as "people/those canoes" or "Sea People." The group divided into the forest while others remained on the west coast of the island. In the 17th century immigrants came from the Middle East, South Asia/Pacific, and Europe. These immigrants mixed with the original group from Indonesia by marriage. The result was the formation of several people groups. The Antaisaka, or Antesaka, originated during this time period. The dialect of Antesaka is from the Malayo-Polynesian language)
