Etude comparative des langues ngiri de l'entre Ubangi-Zaire, 1996: p. 1ff (languages of the populations between the Ubangi and Zaire Rivers in Northwest Zaire, commonly known as "Gens d'eau"; frequently uses term langues riverains throughout book. ... Descr. by Guthrie as group C.30 in his zonal classification of Bantu languages ...; lists 26 langs. in this grouping, including: Lingombe, Doko, Poto, Buja, Motembo, Kunda, Bomboma, Lobala, Libobi, Ebuku, Lifonga, Likata, Libinza, Litoka, Balobo, Mabembe, Mabale, Iboko, Boloki, Mbonji, Ndobo, Zamba, Loi, Eleku, Mpama, and Bobangi. This study also incorporates Lingombe and Doko, from Group C.40, and Lobala from Group C.10, which are believed to be related. Van Bulck calls these languages Ngiri-Loyi languages.
