Three-panel comic strip shows a gangster about to shoot Mammy and Pappy. At that moment, Li'l Abner, dressed in his Flying Avenger costume, hurtles in through the window and crashes head first through the opposite wall into the bathroom where another gangster is taking a bath. The second gangster is delighted to see The Flying Avenger, recognizing him from the picture he obtained by sending in "a thousand 'Boopsie' box tops." Li'l Abner was first published in 1934, and in the early years, the strip frequently featured the dumb but handsome hillbilly's misadventures in the big city.
