Site History. House: Italianate villa by F. Garvin Hudson, begun 1914 for Henry Ernest Bothin. Bothin purchased the property in 1910 from Daniel E. Richardson. Landscape: Joseph J. Whipple and James Wilkinson Elliott on 25 acres, 1901-1910; Robert Armstrong; Daniel E. Richardson. Associated Name: Lottie Whittier (Mrs. Henry E.) Bothin. Other: Gardens designed for Daniel E. Richardson and acquired from his widow Julia by Henry Ernest Bothin in April 1910.
